Memories In The Making

Katie got invited to a slumber/birthday party last weekend. She was so excited as was the birthday-girl, Christina. Of course, last week-end was when we were "supposed" to have our huge snow storm down on the MS Gulf Coast! And like I said before......"we can survive a Cat 5 hurricane, but lord you even mention "snowstorm" and city gonna shut down!! They closed school that Friday in preparation for the "blizzard" that never was.......not down here anyway. Up in my neck of the woods in Central Mississippi, they got a lot of beautiful snow. The pictures I saw were gorgeous........but that's ok, at least we have the beaches..........

The birthday party was postponed until today and the excitement in those little girls eyes were so cute! And the shrills, you know there is nothing like a pack of girls screaming!!LOL I know it is something they will never ever forget! Thanks to Christina's mom, Cheryl for doing all this for them.........I know that it is a memory they will look back fondly on as the get older.

I don't know if I will ever be brave enough to tackle a girl slumber party. The boys have had tons of them but they are so much easier. Stick a tent out in the back yard with a tv and playstation and they are good to go for the night!LOL Girls you have to "entertain"...........But it sure was fun seeing them all excited!

Will post again soon......also be on the look-out.......yes I am going to be co-hosting another blog!! This one will be more on internet safety and child safety online........with my friends at http://www.coastcomputerdoctors.com/ facebook safety.........it's so hard to protect our children now a days, even when they are just in another room. Knowledge is Power and I hope to educate you and myself as we go along...........More to come soon:-)

Christie's Creation

I got some new "fonts" and new tags. I have been a stamping fool lately. I really love the rectangle ones.

I also got 2 new design fonts. Here is a pic of the Cross font. I have a Heart font too......I'll post pics of it soon.....

Ash Wednesday

Yesterday was Ash Wednesday. I went to mass with Bren and Katie and got my ashes. Father Louie always is so wonderful in mass. This year getting my ashes had a new meaning........for all you Non-Catholic readers, when you go up to get your ashes, the one giving you the ashes says "From dust you came, to dust you will return" and puts a cross in ashes on your forehead. All I could think about was Gina, and how true that statement really is........that is one thing that is inevitable.......we are all going to die one day. That is why I am going to live everyday to the fullest......because you never know when it may be your last......life is too short to sweat the small stuff. I am not the only person in the world who has lost someone who they love.........and it is selfish of me to feel sorry for myself. Gina is in a much better place.....and I am just grateful to have been able to call her a friend.
I made these little pendants for me and some of my friends who loved Gina too. I think they turned out cute. I hope you all have a wonderful day and live life everyday to the very fullest you can!

HAPPY MARDI GRAS!!!!

I Hope everyone has a HAPPY MARDI GRAS!!!!! We went to the Pass Christian Parade Sunday and we all had a blast! The past couple of years we have been going to Brian's childhood best friend's house and they always park trucks right on the parade route. It makes it so much easier and safer for the kids! It is wonderful not having to worry about them running in the street trying to pick up beads.

Here are the kids anxiously awaiting the parade to start........a
Katie, Brooke, Cameron and Nicole
Mackensie and Morgan in back row...
Mackie, Morgan and Mackie's friend
Brooke and Nicole
Nicole, Wendy and Cameron
Brady, Carson and Brendan waiting to get into some mischief!!LOL
Bren and Brady showing some brotherly love!

The parade went off pretty easy. The kids were all happy and excited about it. Except Brady, who wasn't in the best mood of the day.......he had a few meltdowns.........like walking around as the "unknown boy".....
and squalling when I put him in the truck......
But his Daddy saved the day and got him out of truck.....

FREEDOM!!!

SAINTS WIN SUPER BOWL!

What an awesome year for the Saints!  We had such a great time watching the Super Bowl on Sunday.  Our neighbors and friends came over to watch the Saints bring it home.  When they won our whole neighborhood went crazy.  People were shooting fireworks, screamming, hooting and hollaring.....I kid you not!  It was very exciting.  Even I watched it.......well, the end of it anyway....;-)  Of course the event did not go off without a hitch........the minute my good friend Jan got here her little girl tripped when Patrick was chasing her and fell and busted her mouth wide open.:-(  Patrick fell on top of her and her tooth (or teeth) went through her top gums......it was awful.  The next day she had to get THREE teeth pulled.  Thank goodness it was baby-teeth.  Patrick was beyond mortified........he felt terrible.  Poor little MaKenna.  I told her she really knew how to make an entrance.......bless her heart!
After that things went pretty smoothly.  New Orleans really needed the Saints to win.  The morale has been uplifted since then!
I love this picture of me and Brian.  He was laughing at me "posing" but I think it is one of our best photos together.
After Jan got MaKenna all calmed down, she came back to celebrate the Saints win.
Jan's beautiful oldest daughter, Tristan and her friend Chrisjen.
Me and Camille

All of the gals.......Back Row-Jordan, Me, Shanae, Karla, Candace and Camille
Front row-Katie, Kalie and Brooke
You know what is funny about this picture is that Shanae's precious little baby Zachary was crying for his Mama and didn't want her taking pics without holding him so she had to pick him up.....he is hiding behind Karla.......if you look real hard you can see his little blond head!!LOL

Okay, looking back at all these pictures, I realized that Brady gets it honestly being a camera hog!LOL  At least he got something from me!!

This Sunday is the Pass Christian Mardi Gras Parade.  Both my sisters and my nieces are coming.  I will post pics as soon as I can!  Happy Mardi Gras to everybody!!  Stay Safe!!
