My Baseball Playing Boys!!

It is going to be a busy busy baseball season. All 3 of my boys are playing baseball this year(well one is actually t-ball). Brian is coach both to Bren and Brady, but sometimes when both their games are at the same time he has to coach Bren's team since he is head coach. So that leaves me on my own to encourage Brady. Of course I can only yell and cheer so much, the kid is gonna do what he wants to do. What am I supposed to do?? Run out to the outfield and make him get up?? (yes, that is what my hubby said I should have done!) Brady really wasn't into the game at all..........yes it is cute to see them goofing out there, but Brady goes a little too far with the whole "playing around in outfield"!! As Katie and I were sitting there watching him run out to play shortstop for the 1st time, I could hardly believe my eyes when the kid started laying down in outfield!!
I tried to yell for him to get up, but the more I yelled, the more he layed!!!Of course I just "had" to get my camera out so I can blackmail him one day when his little boy does the same thing!!haha
Look at the little turkey smiling at me, knowing I was taking a picture of him!!
It really was mortifying seeing him laying down like that!! At one point he was even making "dirt angels"!!
Meanwhile, while Brady is taking a little nap in outfield, my little slugger Bren was about to slam one..........I would run back and forth between the fields so that I could at least see them both of them bat!
He was happy to see his mama watching him! He was so excited that he hit a triple! GO BREN!

There he is on 3rd, about to bring it on home!!

Whoooo Hooooo!!!! Score Bren Bren!!!
Having 3 boys playing on 3 different teams can get hectic. There is only so much of a person that can be spread around. So someone gets left out......usually the oldest, since he is more self sufficient and older. But kids always want their parents there to watch them in whatever they do, no matter how old they are. One night Patrick, Bren and Brady all had games at the very same time. Patrick plays on the JV and Varsity team. He got to pitch for the 1st time the night we missed it. He struck 3 people out in a row and hit a triple!! Thanks goodness my mother-in-law and brother-in-law were there to see it!!
GO PATRICK!!
I was sure to make it to his next home game!

Go Rocks!!!
Patrick and my nephew Cody putting on the bug-spray......those gnats were bad!!

Look at Brady trying to sneak into the field!! Actually he was trying to reach for a ball, but it sure was funny seeing him crawling under the fence like that!!

That boy is gonna cause me to get institutionalized one day!

Memories In the Making Part 2

My kids get to go to the funnest birthday parties. I don't remember getting to do half the stuff that they do. But I do have some very fond memories from certain birthday parties when I was growing up. Of course the skating parties were always fun. And Gayla Gatewood used to have slumber parties out at her parents cabin which were always fun. I always loved Rhonda Burrough's spend-the-night parties too. I remember one time we stayed up all night long. It was the first time I had ever stayed up the entire night. We camped out on her trampoline. When the sun rose that morning we thought we had really done something! We were so proud of ourselves for pulling an all-nighter! Of course we passed out around 6. I still have a picture that Rhonda's mom, Mama Kay, took of Rhonda and I sleeping on the couch. I guess we were around 10 or 11 years old, probably around the same age as my little Bren Bren. It is so much fun to remember all those fun times growing up. Our children are lucky because it will be so much easier to remember stuff now that everthing is recorded so easily now. I guess that could be a good or bad thing!haha I'm not sure I'd want to see "everything" recorded from my teenage years!

Speaking of spend-the-night parties, Bren Bren went to his friend, Karl's birthday party this weekend. It was so awesome. They live right on the bay and they all rode on canoes and kayaks. We got there a little late because Bren had baseball practice. They were already on the water when we got there. Bren was a little apprehensive at first. His friend Sam floated up and a kayak and Bren passed on getting on it with him. It looked a little bit too easy to tip over and it was kinda chilly outside, especially if you got wet.

Bren just gave his big ole smile and said "no thanks"!!LOL

His buddies, Nick and Jack floated up on a real canoe that looked a little bit more sturdy, so Bren finally got in.

He had never been on a canoe before so it took him a minute to get warmed up.....

Being the Mama that I am, I tried to not freak out and show my fear, I really am trying to let my kids grow up, even though I really was screamming inside my head, "DON'T DROWN! DON'T ROCK THE BOAT!! BE CAREFUL!!"

Bren is getting the hang of it!! Look at the neighbor's dog running along with them! SO CUTE!

Oh I was so scared they were going to tip over.......

But they didn't!!

And off they go!!...........

I enjoy watching my children have fun, but boy it makes me sad seeing them grow up so fast. It's unbelievable how it seems like just yesterday I was pregnant with little Bren Bren......now he is about to be 11 years old this summer. Time really does fly when you are having fun.............

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!

I'M BACK!!

So sorry it has been so long since my last post. I guess I could say "oh I've been so busy with all these kids" or " I've been cleaning house" or some other lame excuse but the truth is I have been just too lazy lately. Sorry!:-) I promise to try to do better.

I have been playing around with my photos, making collages and pics to print out and frame. I posted some........

This one is from 2 years of Christmas pics....... 2008 and 2009. Not much changed in a year, except Patrick had more of the "teenage angst" look in 2009........other than that not much. Patrick is in the light shirt in 2008 and the black in 2009. Both years you can tell that the boys were trying to hold Brady to make him stay in the pictures....
Me with my brother and 2 sisters! I love and miss them so much!
Sisters......

Mama with her baby chicks.......a pic with each one and the middle with all of them....

Me and Brian

Patrick

Brendan

Katie
These are some pics I took of Katie a couple of years ago, before she had all her teeth in.....we were just playing around in make-up, Lord I dread the day when she "really" starts wearing makeup!

She was a good little model.....I'll have to take some new ones of her now that she has all her teeth in!

Super Brady!

And the poor little "4th" baby hardly has any professional baby pics..........but I promise I made up for it since he is now the one who gets his picture taken the most by me..........I made this collage of him when he was a tiny baby.........he was so dang cute!

That's it for now. I'll be back soon, and I promise to not stay away so long!

Memories In The Making

Katie got invited to a slumber/birthday party last weekend. She was so excited as was the birthday-girl, Christina. Of course, last week-end was when we were "supposed" to have our huge snow storm down on the MS Gulf Coast! And like I said before......"we can survive a Cat 5 hurricane, but lord you even mention "snowstorm" and city gonna shut down!! They closed school that Friday in preparation for the "blizzard" that never was.......not down here anyway. Up in my neck of the woods in Central Mississippi, they got a lot of beautiful snow. The pictures I saw were gorgeous........but that's ok, at least we have the beaches..........

The birthday party was postponed until today and the excitement in those little girls eyes were so cute! And the shrills, you know there is nothing like a pack of girls screaming!!LOL I know it is something they will never ever forget! Thanks to Christina's mom, Cheryl for doing all this for them.........I know that it is a memory they will look back fondly on as the get older.

I don't know if I will ever be brave enough to tackle a girl slumber party. The boys have had tons of them but they are so much easier. Stick a tent out in the back yard with a tv and playstation and they are good to go for the night!LOL Girls you have to "entertain"...........But it sure was fun seeing them all excited!

Will post again soon......also be on the look-out.......yes I am going to be co-hosting another blog!! This one will be more on internet safety and child safety online........with my friends at http://www.coastcomputerdoctors.com/ facebook safety.........it's so hard to protect our children now a days, even when they are just in another room. Knowledge is Power and I hope to educate you and myself as we go along...........More to come soon:-)
