Mama is Down...

The funk has caught up with me! I avoided it for as long as I could, but just couldn't escape the germy wrath. Not feeling so good...sore throat, stuffy nose, earache, all the fun stuff that comes along with it. I was really wanting to go to Biloxi to go get craft supplies today. I am going to start making stamped metal necklaces. I will post some pictures and tutorials as soon as I get it under way. It all depends on how my body fights this mess off.

Lazy Saturday!

Today has been a very lazy Saturday. We've just lazed around the house. I've been reading and surfing the net while Patrick was at a friend's house and Bren and Brian were at a baseball game. Katie and Brady have been playing and making a mess. I made Katie clean her room and when I went to check on her, she had Brady locked up in the room with her and screamed she had a surprise for me and that she'd be right out. So I went back to my room to wait on them and this is what my surprise was...

My baby boy dressed up as a girl!! He is going to kill me one day for putting this on the Internet, but I just couldn't resist!
Katie is excited that she finally has a sister! NOT!

Somebody better go throw a football with that boy!!

It's Been A While...

Sorry yall, I know it has been a while since my last post. That garage just took it our of me!JK We've just had a lot going on. Our Neighborhood Watch meeting turned out really great Monday night. Now I am planning a neighborhood garage sale. It is going to involve the whole neighborhood. Our kids are going to do a lemonade stand and donate the proceeds to the Children's Cancer Society and we will be donating a % of our profits also. I am excited about it. Cleaning up and helping others is a Win Win!!:-)

I am getting ready to start my Halloween crafts. I'll post each project. I can't wait to decorate!

SUCCESS!!!

Finally after working on it for 5 days...I FINALLY finished the garage!!!! It was no easy task, but at least the weather was nice. And with my fan blowing and my radio blaring...once I got started it really wasn't too bad. I am embarrassed beyond belief to show the before pictures, but I am so proud of my work, and I I really don't think you can appreciate it without seeing the horror in which I began! I had not done anything in that garage in over a year except to throw junk in it so it was quite nasty. It also had those Styrofoam "peanuts" all over the floor and those are a pain to get up...they are so lite and they stick to everything.

Ok, here are the before pics...

Look at the junk pile in my front yard waiting for the trash man!!!
But all the hard work was worth it...TaaDaa!!..............
The rocking chair will be refinished one day...
We don't use the garage to park our cars in, it is more like a game-room for the kids/workout room...especially during the cooler months!

We are having a garage sale in October and even more stuff will be outta there. I am so excited, maybe I can get motivated to clean up the rest of my house now!:-)

The Camera Hog

Brady is definitely his Mother's son...he loves to get his picture taken. In fact, he is a terrible camera hog! When I say terrible, I am not kidding. He will NOT let you take a picture without him in it.

My brother-in-law, Sean, came over one time wanting me to take some pictures for his facebook page. Brady wasn't about to let him get a picture without him!

He would pose just like him saying "look at my muscles"! We didn't have the heart to make him get out of the pictures. So Brady is on Uncle Sean's profile page!LOLI also tried to get a picture of my nieces together, but that didn't work out so good either...He got very upset but still wasn't satisfied when he got in the picture...When Katie got her American Girl Doll for her birthday, I tried to take pictures of her and her best friend with the doll, but...Brady wasn't about to let a picture be taken without him!!
Then Katie throws a fit and wants one without him, which broke poor Brady's heart!:-(
Reluctantly, Katie finally let Brady get in the picture! But you gotta admit the little fella takes some good pictures!:-)

It Always Happens To Me...

No matter what I'm doing, no matter where I am...something dramatic always happens. I can't have a simple trip to the car line without somebody getting hurt, embarrassing me or worse...even yesterday for instance...Brady and I were waiting for Bren and Katie in the car pool line. We had gotten there early because it moves so slow...so we usually have to wait at least 40 minutes...so Brady decides he has to tee tee...now granted I had worked in the garage that morning and probably smelled like there is no tomorrow, no makeup, dirty tee-shirt and shorts...not to mention to big ol zit on my face...and Brady is in boxers and a wife-beater...and NO SHOES! I'm thinking WTH am I gonna do? I didn't want to walk into the school looking like crap, plus him going into a school bathroom bare-footed(ekk!) My MIL lives across the street (and ditch) from the school, but she wasn't home. I'm scheming in my head what to do...eyeing the water bottle in my cup holder...then smartly deciding against that one...(if you read the story about Brady and the doggy bowl you will understand! I wouldn't want to encourage him!LOL) So there we go trekking across the parking lot, with him on my back, across the road, ditch to Gram's house so Brady can tee tee behind her tree!(thank God he is a boy!) We then rush back to the car before the bell rang!:-) Lesson of the Day: Make sure you go potty before going to car line!

Garage Clean-out

Today I am vowing to get my nasty garage cleaned out by the weekend! I am starting on it today...I'll take "before" pictures but I'm not posting them until I have "after" pictures to go with them! For those of you that might not know, my garage has been a pain in my side for a while. After the "storm" I stored a lot of my Mother-In-Laws belongings that were salvaged from the carnage Katrina left. That was my excuse to not have it clean...then when my M-I-L got her stuff out, I cleaned it up really good. I worked very hard on it. I even painted a mural on one corner of it for the kids to have a play area. I wanted it to be a game room type with the work-out equipment and stuff. Well, that didn't last too long...we started piling up the junk again...now you can't even walk in there!

Here are some pictures of my mural right after I did it...

Hopefully I can get it looking like this again...

This one is for you Roan!:-)

I can't back out now!

Pictures

I posted more Halloween pictures on my first post down below...and just to let you know I am not only a Halloween enthusiast, I also love Christmas! I will be posting Christmas crafts when it gets closer to December. Actually, I LOVE the holiday season. For me, it kicks off for Halloween and goes all the way to Mardis Gras. Our whole neighborhood decorates for every season. My house is boring after February...

Funny Mommy Stories #3

I guess I have always been a blogger at heart. Whenever I had any funny stories, I would send them out in mass emails to my friends. Here is one that I sent...I also submitted a couple of them to the TV show IN THE MOTHERHOOD, before it was canceled. This one I sent out in 06. ***I don't know why I start out all my emails with ok!! I guess I think I am telling a joke or something!!LOL***

Katie, My 5 year old daughter was riding our neighbor's, Kaitlyn's bike while they were away on vacation. Katie ended up wrecking the bike and her foot somehow gets caught between the pedal and the bike. I tried and tried to get her foot out, all the while with her screaming. My other neighbor, who had just given birth the week before, brings out lotion to try to slide it out, to no avail. We ended up having to call the fire department, who comes barreling up with the siren fully blaring. Of course all the neighbors have to come out and check to see what the heck was going on. The firemen were trying to get her foot out, but it wouldn't budge. They wanted to cut the pedal. Katie is going berserk, screaming "no, you can't cut Kaitlyn's bike!!" So they tried some more, and finally bent the pedal far enough to slide her foot out. Foot was not hurt at all, and Kaitlyn's bike was fully in tact, thanks to Katie. Lesson learned on playing with other peoples toys!

Funny Mommy Stories #2

This one I sent out in April 08...

Ok, so I am sitting at the computer trying to type up a questionnaire for my high school get-together. I was really involved, not paying attention to Brady. When low and behold I hear water-WTH?? I look up and he is peeing in a cup!!! Before I can say a word he pours it in the dog bowl!!!! OH MY GOD!!!! How many times has he done that before and I didn't see it??? Where else has that little sh@# peed in or on??? Oh well, time to bleach down the house.Yes, this is my life. Do you feel my pain??
Have a GREAT DAY!!
Love
C

Now who would think that this little face would ever do anything wrong? So angelic!:-)

Funny Mommy Stories

This one was sent out in 2005 when Brady was a baby and Katie was 4...

Ok, so Katie my 4 yr old wanted to play with my hair. I let her, because it can be relaxing. Brady needs his diaper changed so I am leaning over him on the floor changing him all the while Katie is "supposed" to be combing my hair. The next thing I know I feel back in the back of my hair and the danged comb is all entwined in my hair. I run to my neighbors house, in my pj's (my dh not home yet) and I'm thinking they will say "no big deal," and we'd all get a big laugh. NOT SO!! It took them 45 mins to get it out!! My neighbor and her dh would take turns trying to get it out. They ended up having to cut the comb apart to get it out!!! Then another 20 mins to get the big ol knot out of my hair!!! What a night!!! Katie says "Mommy I didn't mean to do that, can I please brush your hair again tomorrow??" I don't think so!!LOL
So this is my life!:-)Christie

Hump Day

Happy Hump Day! Hope everybody is having a great week. I am ready for the weekend just so I won't have to go pick up kids from school! I know I should not complain and be happy that they are even in school again, but everyday spending 2 hours in the car with a bunch of screaming, fighting younguns is not my idea of fun! Brady cries the whole time we are waiting on Brendan and Katie in the carpool line...Then they all are crabby riding over to the Bay to pick Patrick up from Stanislaus. By the time I get home I am screaming CALGON TAKE ME AWAY!!! Oh, and by the way, I did scream that the other day and my kids had NO idea what I was talking about! They were asking "Who's Calgon"? What is this world coming to that my kids don't know what Calgon is??? That's almost as bad as them not knowing who MJ was until after he died! Hey, at least they KNOW who ELVIS is!

My first post! "Meathead Recipe"

This is my very first post on my new blog! I am going to have so much fun re-living that dramas of mommyhood day in and day out! I will also try to fit in a few helpful hints and craft tutorials!

Halloween is right around the corner! I love decorating for Halloween and each year I try to outdo the year before! Yesterday I picked up some cheap wire Garden Fencing from Dollar General for 50% off. I probably could have waited for it to be 75% off but I didn't want to risk them being sold out like I did last year. I plan on painting them gray and outlining my "graveyard" with them. I had to use stakes and rope last year which didn't give as good of effect as the fencing will...spooky!!!!
I will post pictures soon of previous ghouls I have made, including:
a mummy
a coffin with dead man in it
a ham "meathead"
a science lab
glitter bones
many more to come...
Halloween 2007
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
Note: Please ignore the huge boob smashing GrumpyGrumpy getting me back for smashing him into the ground
"Dead Man in the Coffin"
"The Meathead"

Meathead Recipe

I had to buy a skull on ebay...it's plastic (not real!heehee)

Cream Cheese spread all over the skull (the recipe called for red Jell-o but I found that cream cheese worked better)

Thinly Sliced Ham strategically placed around scull

1 Boiled Egg cut in half with olive for eyeballs

Garnish with Lettuce and get ready to gross people out!!

Serve with rolls and mustard...
